Description
Pétillant naturel, or simply Pét-Nat, is essentially the ancestor of sparkling wine—a playful and exciting creation. We produce it using the méthode ancestrale, or ancient method, meaning that the Furmint wine is bottled before fermentation is complete. Fermentation continues in the bottle, where the remaining sugar in the must converts into alcohol, producing CO₂ bubbles as a natural byproduct. Unlike traditional sparkling wine, Pét-Nat is not disgorged, so the lees remain in the bottle along with the bubbles.
