Description
Pinot Gris is known in Hungary as Szürkebarát, at it is traditionally one of the most important varieties of the Badacsony wine region. It is grown on 1,720 hectares in Hungary, and it occurs most often in the Badacsony wine region, and in quantity it can be found on over 500 hectares in the Mátra wine region. The volcanic, warm soil suits it very well, especially if we look back at the fact that the most exciting wines of this variety in the world are made here. Just as there are two main varietals in addition to the Hungarian Szürkebarát - pinot grigio and pinot gris -, to put it simply, there are two main styles: serious, full-bodied, with deep and rich flavors, and the other line is light, pleasant, easy-drinking white wine.
Contrary to the usual Badacsony style, we represent the northern Italian line. This is a fresh Szürkebarát made with reductive technology, with which we want to show the more playful side of the variety.
