Description
You'd think a light Sauvignon Blanc had come your way: fruity notes, apricot, lime, lemon, and the inevitable catnip. However, this is Zenit, which, like Zeus, is one of the 5 Z varieties created by Dr Ferenc Király in the 60s. The idea of the researcher was the following: to create new, resistant varieties by crossing a world variety with a traditional Hungarian variety. In the case of Zenit, the parents were the Ezerjó and the Bouvier. It was included in the national breed list in May 1976: initially it bore the sonorous name Badacsony 7, then it was called Zenit, which means the peak, or the highest point.
